Short Term Rehabilitation

 

Bronx Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center’s short term rehabilitation unit is geared toward individuals in the community who require intense rehabilitative services over a short term period of time enabling their return home. Typically, individuals seek our short term rehabilitation following:

 

•           Automobile accidents

•           Falls with fractures

•           Orthopedic surgery (including hip & knee replacements)

•           Amputation

•           Strokes (CVA's)

•           Cardiac surgery

•           General deconditioning following a long hospital stay

 

Bronx Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has a spacious rehabilitative center that delivers comprehensive intensive rehabilitation services. The primary goal of our therapists is to provide quality treatment that will enable an individual to successfully return to his/her home. Physiatric, orthopedic and neurological consultations are provided as needed.

Our therapists are committed to restoring skills and enhancing one's quality of life. Prior to discharge, the social worker and the therapist work closely with the individual and family to assure a smooth transition between facility and home. 

 

Recreational Activities

Recreational programs are tailored to meet each individual's needs. Activities are designed to both enhance quality of life and to promote independence and self-expression. Individual recreation, group activities and community trips maintain a link with the resident's life style. Religious services are provided for all faiths. Residents participate in diet selections through food committee meetings. Residents are encouraged to attend our monthly resident council meetings to discuss the events of the facility and speak to the staff.
