Activities
At Bronx Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, an emphasis is placed on the importance of social interaction and recreational activities for all residents. The activities department provides recreational programs designed to meet the social, educational and spiritual needs of each resident.
Our activities leaders take each resident's history, routines, and preferences into account allowing activity development to maintain and improve. Residents have the opportunity to participate in on-unit and off- unit programs, special events, trips and individual pursuits. In conjunction with our nutrition and dietary staff, our activity department schedules frequent social programs including holiday celebrations, barbecues and other special events.
Live Entertainment
Live entertainment is a very enjoyable activity for our residents and their families. Various times throughout the week different entertainers will perform birthday parties, sing-along and talent shows.
Community Outings
The activity leaders take our residents out via customized buses to great locations such as our local neighborhood restaurants, movies, retail shops, sporting events and other locations as the residents vote on during their resident council meetings. We provide wheelchair transportation as needed as well. A resident favorite is our monthly Bronx Park Dine-In program. We go out and bring in different resident favorite foods such as McDonalds, KFC, Chinese food and pizza.
Outdoor Area
Residents and their families can sit in our semi-enclosed patio and enjoy the fresh air and scenery.
Religious and Spiritual Care
Members of our religious community are always welcome to visit with our residents. We honor all resident's religious beliefs and customs. We have over a half dozen different religious groups visiting our facility at least twice a week.
Hair Salon
Our facility offers a full service beauty salon for all residents. All services are provided by a licensed beautician and are reasonably priced. Certified Nursing Assistants provide nail care and activity leaders provide hand massages and a change of nail polish.
Safe Smokers' Lounge
The Bronx Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center offers a supervised smoke area to ensure the continued safety of everyone. Each resident smoker's material are individually labeled and secured by a smoke room monitor. We also offer a smoking cessation program to give smoking residents the opportunity to successfully quit the habit.
Pet Therapy
Families are encouraged to bring their pets to visit with their loved ones. Please make sure you have all the proper paperwork for the pet’s vaccinations available.
Resident & Family Council
Resident and Family Council meetings are held regularly and provide ongoing information concerning life in the facility as well as a forum for residents, friends and family to voice their ideas and opinions. As part of our quality assurance efforts, we encourage active participation as we welcome feedback about the quality of care and services provided at Bronx Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
