Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care

Our Alzheimer’s and related dementia program is designed to meet the needs of this special population. The recreation and nursing staff design and implement therapeutic activities that serve to maximize the resident’s cognitive and functional abilities. The emphasis is on enhancing the resident’s quality of life in an environment that promotes individuality, respect and dignity.

Our Dementia Programs integrate enrichment and support in wonderful homelike surroundings by staff who have been trained by the Alzheimer’s Association. Programs include sensory stimulation, reality orientation, modified crafts, music, games and exercise. These nurturing settings provide increased socialization, diminished agitation, social and cognitive stimulation.

Stroke Recovery

Strikes strike more than 700,000 people annually and its effects can diminish the quality of life for many of its victims. Common effects of strokes include:

* Paralysis or problems controlling movement, such as walking, balance and/or swallowing

* Sensory disturbances (such as the ability to feel, touch, pain, temperature, or position)

* Difficulty using or understanding language

* Thinking and memory problems

* Emotional disturbances

If your loved one has suffered a stroke, it is critical to get them into a rehabilitation program early on.
