In order to get this approved we need a prescription stating, “Pedicraft- Pediatric Hospital Bed with Canopy.”

 

In addition to a detailed letter of medical necessity, stating why this bed is needed and why a standard bed is not safe for him and it should include ALL the diagnosis the child has . . .

 

A patient can qualify above the age of 3 and below 21. (Not recommended it for a child who is obese.)

 

DX:

Autism,

Seizure disorder

Mental retardation

(Or list other neurological Dx’s that cause a child to fall off the bed in middle of the night or they get up and leave their bed in middle of the night to do dangerous things.)
